David Jones is a former army officer who retired after a successful seventeen year career. Towards the end of his service he realised that he had a slight entrepreneurial streak and started his own business. He has just become a Director in his sixth company. His background in the military gave him considerable experience and qualifications in the underwater environment and as a commercial and media diving supervisor and underwater photographer he found himself working for the BBC Natural History Unit (as well as other production companies) making underwater documentaries. For the last two years he has been involved in the Plastic Oceans Foundation, a charity dedicated to solving the issues of plastic pollution in our oceans. David gives presentations on the issues of plastic pollution in our oceans, the solutions, and discussions of the “Plastic Oceans” film due to be released in January 2013.
